Onion - Red Wethersfield *Sorry, Sold out for 2019*

*Sorry, Sold out for 2019*

2612-UT Allium cepa

100 days from transplant.

Simply known as “Large Red” back in the 1700s and early 1800s, this productive onion was developed especially for trade (Yankee traders sold it by the boat-load) and soon renamed for the Connecticut town it became synonymous with (and whose town logo and mascot are, naturally, now onions). Red Wethersfields are slightly flattened, purple-red globes with a sweet flavour great for salads, cooking, and storage.

~200 seeds/g.
