1601-CO  Brassica oleracea var. botrytis

60 days.

I was surprised to find these guys heading up so soon in the garden last year! Nice bright white heads even though this variety is not self-wrapping. Tender yet crisp, heads hold their harvestable stage for quite a while allowing for spaced out harvests. 63 days from transplant. The first pointy-headed character to grace Hope Seeds' gardens and catalogue!  Originating in England in early 1800's, though became popular on this continent with market and home gardeners when introduced by Peter Henderson in 1868.  Heads are a tight, conical 2-3 lbs that form with little outside foliage allowing for tighter spacing.

~240 seeds/g
