Poppies have been cultivated for over 3000 years. Â
Homer referred to them in his writings, and ancient Greeks and Romans used the seeds in food and medicine.  The plants originated in and around Turkey and Holland. The origins of the Danish Flag poppy, or “Danebrog” predate 1888. The white spots at the base of the red frilled petals form a cross in the centre of the blooms, resembling the flag of Denmark. Single blooms on blue-green foliage about 2’ high. Seedpods are ideal in dried flower arrangements. ~ 1000 seeds/g
