Herbs
It's always the herbs that seem to be the "gourmet touch" when it comes
to good food. The flavours and aromas that fresh herbs add to meals is
unbeatable! The interesting part is their relationship with other
plants in the gardens: their companion qualities for creating
beneficial insect habitat, detering the bad bugs, and "bringing
out the best" of neighbouring crops.

CORIANDER / CILANTRO
40 days leaf, 90 days seed.
One of my favourite herbs, used often to add the distinct fresh flavour
to salsas and other Latin American dishes. Both the leaves
(cilantro) and the seeds (coriander) are edible. Leaves are a vibrant green, flat-leafed
and resemble Italian parsley. Excellent when chopped and added to
salad dressings. Approx 150 seeds/gram.

DILL
50-60 days.
Like coriander, dill is used both for its leaves and seed.

great attractant for parasid wasps (the good guys!) if left to flower.
Approx 600 seeds/gram.

PARSLEY - Italian Flat-Leaf
Certified Organic

This type of parsley is the one grown and used for its cooking
qualities - much more vibrant than the curly kinds. It is the
standard variety for fresh use and drying, and provides ease of harvest
with it's upright growth habit.

SAGE
Certified
Organic
Perennial. Very
aromatic selection. Grey leaves can be used fresh or dried for
fish and poultry dishes. Sage has a traditional role in Native
culture as one of the four sacred medicines: Sage, Tobacco, Sweetgrass,
and Cedar. It is burned (called a "smudge") in ceremony as the smoke is used to
"cleanse" the area and participants. Approx 150 seeds/gram.
