POPPY - Czech White
Poppies
have been cultivated for over 3000 years. Homer referred to them
in his writings, and ancient Greeks and Romans used the seeds in food
and medicine. The plants originated in Turkey, Holland, and this
strain in particular comes from the Czech Republic. Czech White
grows to approximately 2-2.5' tall, and produces single blossoms
brilliant white with mauve. An
interesting note - this variety does not have seed pods that open on
their own (much like most other poppies), which reduces their
self-sowing.

POPPY - Pink
This
is the oldest type of poppy in cultivation and was known by the Greeks
and Egyptians who used it as a painkiller and sleep inducer.
Really a tender perennial, poppies generally behave as
self-seeding annuals around here. Grey-green foliage with large
flowers in a range of colours from purple, pink, and red to white.
Blooms are a mix of singles and doubles.
